Country superstar Miranda Lambert is detailing her first blended married Thanksgiving. She kept it quirky and anything but traditional. So, what kept it so out of the box and why is she opening up about this after four Thanksgivings? Read on for more details.
Miranda Lambert Details 1st Blended Married Thanksgiving
It has been nearly five years since Miranda Lambert wed her second husband, Brendan McLoughlin. They met and it was almost an instant connection. She had previously been married to Blake Shelton but that ended and he fell for fellow The Voice coach, Gwen Stefani. In 2019, Lambert and McLoughlin tied the knot and have been sharing their happily ever after since. Though this year has been filled with some controversy for Miranda, she has kept a positive attitude. To add to that, she is opening up about something interesting and fun that apparently happened on her first married Thanksgiving. So, what exactly was it?
According to KIK FM, she spoke to ABC Audio about her and Brendan’s very first Thanksgiving. Apparently, they do not stick to just basic holiday foods like turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. Rather, they had a variety of delights for all to enjoy.
“We had a family Thanksgiving the first Thanksgiving we were married and my parents and my brother and his husband came up to New York and all of Brendan‘s family came. So it was a smorgasbord of like all the things. It was beans and rice and eggplant parm and my brother’s vegetarian, so it was his beautiful squash and veggies…And then my dad made, like, chicken with barbecue sauce. And I mean, it was kind of like representative of all of our heritage, so it was really cool.”
That sounds like they blended all of the things that they love and what meant the most to their families. Plus, there was something for everyone who attended and they had the amazing ability to bring both sides seamlessly together. This could be why they have been so happy because they have created an amazing team.
Cooking & Sharing
Miranda Lambert has taken her love of cooking and created a cookbook plus she has her Wanda June home collection at Walmart. The style is eclectic meets southwest meets traditional and it changes up for the holidays. So, the fact that Miranda and Brendan had a combination holiday is so on brand with who she is as a person and a businesswoman. She has not shared what the following Thanksgiving dinners were like. Yet, if they were anything like the first, she was definitely onto something.
What do you think of Miranda and her family bringing all of their favorites to the holiday table? Is that the way that it should be and a good break from tradition? Let us know in the comments below.
