Fresh off of the Season 24 finale of The Voice, Gwen Stefani is ditching her husband on New Year’s Eve, as well. They were supposed to spend the magical evening together. Yet, that will not be happening anymore and it is all because Gwen has other priorities. Read on for more details.
Gwen Stefani Ditches Hubby On New Year’s Eve For Other Priorities
For some time, there have been rumors that things have not been great between Gwen Stefani and her husband, Blake Shelton. She’s a California girl whereas he loves his home in Oklahoma and living a more simple life. To Gwen, the spotlight is everything but Blake is a little more chill. He left The Voice after twenty-three seasons but he still keeps himself busy. Some of his projects are behind the scenes. Blake is opening another Ole Red restaurant, this one in Las Vegas. Additionally, he has some Hallmark projects as well as his show, Barmageddon.
When it comes to New Year’s Eve, he was booked to be in Nashville for a huge country music evening. Blake is a part of Nashville’s Big Bang alongside Trace Adkins and more. Yes, Gwen was going to be there with her husband of more than two years. Then, she chose work over a midnight smooch, despite claiming she did not want to do this job ever again. According to The Sun, Gwen will be back in Las Vegas for New Year’s Eve even though she said she would never do after 2022.
“Last year I did Vegas and I was like, ‘Remind me to never do Vegas again.’ [But] you sometimes want to… not be the host. So I was like, ‘Eh, I’m gonna do it.’ If you’re gonna be working then I’m gonna be working — so I’m just gonna fly in and out it’s gonna be awesome. I’m really looking forward to it.”
The fact that she is choosing work over her husband may make fans start to question if she is even making an effort. This is after fans have wondered how much he has tried to live her lifestyle over hers. She does her best to be a country girl but is that really what she wants? One fan noted this:

Can They Make It Last?
At this point, the bigger question is if Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton can make it last. She admitted she was going to be at Blake’s New Year’s Nashville show until she got the call from Vegas. This makes it seem Gwen is not happy unless she is busy and working. More so, it will not calm down the chatter like this fan:
