Hardy has become one of country music’s most unique stars, with a mix of heavy metal and old-school country. He has made it clear that he does things his way, and a new documentary promises to show what he is all about. This documentary is called Becoming the Crow and it is coming very soon.

What is Hardy’s Becoming the Crow?
Hardy is creating a documentary movie about his career and life called Becoming The Crow. This will show the story of his rise to success as a Nashville country songwriter who refused to give up his love for hard rock. More so, it takes its title from his second album, The Mockingbird and the Crow.
For those unfamiliar with The Mockingbird and the Crow, it is a unique album. One half is old-school country music while the other half is hard rock that borders on heavy metal. Thanks to the album, Hardy has songs playing on country music radio and other songs playing on hard rock stations.
“Wait in the Truck” is a country song he performed with Lainey Wilson that has gone double-platinum and reached 23rd on the Billboard Hot 100 and second on the U.S. Country Airplay charts. From the same album, “Jack” is a hard rock song that peaked at number two on the U.S. Hard Rock charts and third on the U.S. Mainstream charts.
“Truck Bed” is a country song that went platinum and hit 55th on the Billboard Hot 100 while “Sold Out” is a rock song that hit number one on the U.S. Hard Rock charts and went gold. This new documentary shows how Hardy has been able to find success in two different genres, all on the same album.
Hardy Becoming the Crow release date
In his self-made trailer for the Becoming the Crow documentary, Hardy said what he wants people to take out of the movie. He said no one made rules for music and there is no set rule book. Moreover, he said that rule-breakers are the biggest success stories in music history. That is who Hardy looks up to and he said people can do “whatever the f**k you want” in music.

“I hope that in five years when I have three or four records out, that somebody will be like, ‘If you wanna know who Hardy is, go listen to The Mockingbird and the Crow,'” he said in the trailer. Finally, he added that the album encapsulates” who he is. Anyone who wants to see it can do so for free.
The Becoming the Crow documentary premieres on January 11 on YouTube. There will also be a theatrical screening in Nashville on the same day.
