Scotty McCreery shared a 37-second snippet of an unreleased song that is said to keep ’90s country music alive. On Thursday, January 4, 2024, the famous country star took to social media to share a little of what’s to come of his new album.

Scotty Shared Unreleased Song Snippet

He shared a 37-second snippet of his untitled, unreleased song that gives off ’90s country vibes. He captioned the audio clip, “Does anyone else have this problem? What do y’all think of this one?”

Scotty McCreery, who was recently invited to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, can be heard in the audio clip showing off his baritone vocals, while belting out the lyrics to his new tune.

“Jessie’s a mechanic/ his mother-in-law’s a manic/ his new wife’s in a panic/ saying when you coming home/ Danny drives a tractor/ left it in the pasture/ boss is getting madder/ ’cause he won’t pick up the phone/ might not be an Ivy League Einstein crow/ but when it comes to Friday night/ man, we got it figured out/ when the long week’s paychecks are cashed/ where we gonna spend it buddy you ain’t gotta ask/ when the neon lights are kickin on/ all of us are heading to a home away from home/ we don’t look like much, but we’re damn smart/ for some good ole boys that can’t pass the bar”

Scotty’s ’90s Country-Inspired Album On The Way

The new song will more than likely be included in his new album. This project will have him leaning into the ’90s country sound that he was raised on.

“We more so just kind of sat down with guitars and were having fun, you know? We wanted to write songs that sounded like songs I grew up with and loved. I wanted to tell those stories,” Scotty told Music Mayhem. He followed with, “Sometimes, it doesn’t have to always be your story. So, we just kind of let the guitar lead us, and wherever we ended up is where we ended up.”

New Album To Be “Less Autobiographical”

Scotty McCreery said in addition to reviving the ’90s honky-tonk sound, his new project will be “less autobiographical that previous records.” He then promised to include the usual true-to-life kind of material with songs dedicated to his wife, Gabi and son, Merrick Avery.

He stated, “There will be a baby song on there and a song for Gabi. But, I would say, as a whole, this record is a little less autobiographical than previous records. I kind of went into it with that in mind.” Following with, “We kinda tried different directions on this record. There’s a song for Avery. There’s a song for Gabi. Some heartbreak and some breakup songs. Some honky tonk songs and stuff I really haven’t done before on records.”

Scotty has yet to officially announce the title or release date for his sixth studio album. His next project will follow the release of his 2021 album Same Truck.
