Ernest Ray Lynn, age 69, had another kidney surgery. The surgery was to implant a device to help the “Coal Miner’s Daughter” singer’s son with the kidney failure he has been struggling with for years. Sadly, it appears the medical device is not working as it was expected to work.

Crystal Lynn, Ernest Ray’s wife, did not go into any details about the medical device her husband received. Normally quite private about his health issues, felt the need to share the news of the “Fist City” singer’s son. Ernest Ray approved of her making the announcement about his continued health struggles. Other than to say it was to help with his kidney failure and continued dialysis, no other details were explained about the operation.
Based on that information, Ernest Ray Lynn will probably have to continue with his dialysis treatments. Seeing the surgery was not successful, his team of doctors will have to take more drastic measures in order to improve his life. She asked the fans of Loretta Lynn for prayers for her husband and his continued kidney issues.
Ernest Ray Lynn Details
Ernest Ray Lynn is one of the six children of Loretta Lynn and her late husband, Oliver “Doolittle” Lynn. He is one of four children who are living. Lynn’s oldest son, Jack Benny Lynn, died in 1984. He drowned in the river on the family’s property in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. His sister, Betty Sue, died in 2003 due to complications of a lung disease.
He has battled kidney issues for a very long time. This recent surgery was just one of many he has had throughout his lifetime, most being in the last few years. His latest surgery was described by his wife in her social media post as being a “life saving and life sustaining” surgery her husband was in desperate need of having.
Loretta Lynn’s son is the father of Tayla Lynn. Like her grandmother, she is a singer and songwriter. She often performs covers of her grandmother’s songs.
Ernest Ray Lynn survived both his parents. His father passed before Loretta Lynn. The “Coal Miner’s Daughter” passed away on October 4, 2022 in her home in Hurricane Mills. She was 90 years old at the time of death.
