The sudden and untimely death of country music superstar Toby Keith has opened up a lot of questions about his widow, Tricia Lucus. The “Shoulda Been A Cowboy” singer and Lucas spent over 39 years as husband and wife. It was Tricia Lucas and the rest of his family who shared the sad news of Toby’s Keith’s passing.
Toby Keith’s Relationship With Tricia Lucas
Toby Keith and Tricia Lucas met shortly after they graduated from high school. Keith was working in the Oklahoma oil fields and she was a secretary for a local oil company. Toby Keith was singing at a local bar and it was at that bar where the couple met. They started dating shortly after their first meeting. The “American Soldier” singer was only 20 years old and Lucas was only 19 years old when they met.
Toby Keith and Tricia Lucus married about three years after they started dating. This was in 1984. It was only last year when the “Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue” singer posted an older photo of himself and Lucas to celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary. Sadly, due to Toby’s death, this would be the last anniversary the couple would share.

Toby Keith and Tricia Lucus’ Family
Tricia Lucas had one daughter, Shelley Covel Rowland, when she met Toby Keith. Rowland was born in 1980. Shortly after Keith and Lucas were married, the “Made In America” singer adopted Rowland.
The couple went on to have two children. Krystal Keith was born in 1985. This was almost a decade before Toby Keith’s country music career skyrocketed. Stelan Keith, their son, was born 12 years later in 1997.
Krystal Keith, like her father, is also a country music singer. She is married and is the mother to two daughters, Kirby and Hensley. She has performed numerous times on stage with Toby Keith
Stelan Keith is also married. At the time of publication, Toby Keith’s son did not have children. Stelan Keith is an entrepreneur. He owns several businesses including 405 Burger, Sellout Crowd and Hollywood Corners.
Tricia Lucas Was Always Supportive Of Toby Keith
When the Oklahoma oil fields went bust, Toby Keith decided to try his hand at country music full-time. He had been playing in local bars and other local venues, but he was finally ready to give it his all.
Tricia Lucas did not hesitate to give the “I Love This Bar” singer her complete support. As scary as it may be to follow a dream of becoming a country music singer, Lucas did not let those fears deter Toby Keith from pursuing his dream of making it big in country music.
Tricia Lucas continued to support Toby Keith once his country music career took off. She could be seen, on his arm, at countless award ceremonies, supporting her husband. Through all the ups and downs of their personal life, Toby Keith’s career and his health issues, Tricia Lucas was always at his side.
