Dolly Parton and Lainey Wilson are, once again, teaming up for a duet. They will be performing together on the television special, Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala. Viewers will be able to see this collaboration on Wednesday, February 21, at 9/8c on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+.
Dolly Parton’s And Lainey Wilson’s Duet
The “Coat Of Many Colors” singer and the “Watermelon Moonshine” singer will join together in what will be a powerful duet. They will be singing Dolly Parton’s crossover hit song “I Will Always Love You.”
“I Will Always Love You” is one of Dolly Parton’s biggest hits. Not only did Parton take it to the number one slot, so did Whitney Houston. It appeared on the soundtrack for “The Bodyguard” which starred both Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner.
Their First Collaboration
This is not the first time Dolly Parton and Lainey Wilson have sung a duet together. They also recorded “Mama He’s Crazy” together. The album it appeared on was released in October of last year.
The Dolly and Lainey rendition of “Mama He’s Crazy” was on the A Tribute To The Judds album. Many other music superstars also contributed their versions of the duets made famous by the late Naomi Judd and Wynonna Judd.
How Dolly and Lainey Met
Dolly Parton and Lainey Wilson only met last year. The “Jolene” singer presented Wilson with the ACM award for Female Vocalist Of The Year for 2023.
“It was the most surreal moment… It was like, I mean, one of the biggest moments of my life for two different reasons,” Lainey Wilson said. “They say don’t meet your heroes, but she’s just got a heart of gold…I think if we were all a little more like her, the world would be a much better place.”
Stars Will Collide At Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala
Dolly Parton and Lainey Wilson aren’t the only musical superstars who will be performing on Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala. KC of KC And The Sunshine Band, Grace Bowers and Joy Oladokun will also be singing. Along with them will be Carly Pearce, Chris Janson and many, many more.
In addition to musical guests, stars of television and film will also be there. You can expect to see Drew Barrymore, Kristen Bell and Margaret Cho. Kristin Chenoweth, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jessica Simpson and Neil Patrick Harris are scheduled to be there, but it doesn’t appear they will be singing.
