Jelly Roll is a larger-than-life personality, both with his music and in stature. Based on what he looked like just a few years ago, he looks completely different. See him like you’ve never seen him before.
Jelly Roll Has A Distinct Look
No matter where he is, Jelly has such a distinct look that fans can recognize him anywhere. Between the face tattoos, the facial hair, and the extra pounds he has been carrying, Jelly Roll is someone who won’t easily be mistaken for someone else, as he continues to rub elbows with other famous people in the music industry.
From the moment Jelly Roll first broke into the mainstream, he was always carrying around a lot of extra weight. Most of his fans don’t think much of it, as they love him for the hit songs he makes. However, it got to a point recently where Jelly Roll knew he had to make some lifestyle changes if he wanted to live a better life.
Need A Favor Singer Has Struggled With His Weight For Years
Back in 2015, he tipped the scale at more than 500 pounds. The singer has always struggled with his weight. For years, he kept it on, packing on the pounds as he went along. Making matters worse, his weight has gone up, down, and then back up again over the years as well, creating a yo-yo effect.
That larger-than-life image he has certainly plays into what a big name he is today, but, in terms of his health, he knew he had to do something drastic if he wanted to stick around long enough to enjoy the fruits of his labor, and everything he has done up to this point to make a name for himself in the music industry.
Jelly Roll Completely Unrecognizable A Few Years Ago
Based on how he looked a few years ago, he looked completely different when compared to what viewers are used to seeing. He didn’t have quite as many tattoos on his face back then. Another shocker is how much slimmer he looked as well. Jelly Roll has always struggled with his weight, so, this was likely during a time when he had a better handle on things. Still, he was easily half the size then that he is now.
Another noticeable feature is that he didn’t let his facial hair grow out quite as much, which is another signature element of his look. Jelly said previously that he dropped 200 pounds back in 2016. So, it makes sense why he looks much skinnier, as he didn’t put the weight back on until 2018.
The good news is, currently, he is serious about dropping the pounds once again. So much so that he enlisted the help of UFC personal trainer Gary Breka to help him drop weight. His goal is to lose 250 pounds. Jelly Roll has struggled for years with his demons, but, he has people in his corner to help him get right back to where he needs to be.
