Jelly Roll has a very quirky sock rule that he lives by and it seems to boil down to him being “fat.” At least that is what the country superstar is claiming when he shares what he does with his socks. So, what rule does he have, and does it make sense? Keep reading for more details.
Jelly Roll Shares Quirky Sock Rule Because He’s ‘Fat’
There are a few things about Jelly Roll that have become his staples. He has a few gold teeth along with a plethora of tattoos including a handful on his face. These have become his identifying marks and even if he dislikes most of his ink, it makes Jelly the character that he is. Someone that fans can relate to and feel close to, he is the everyday man who has had real struggles which he has successfully overcome. At the same time, he does have his own battles that he has been very transparent about.
Jelly’s weight has been an ongoing issue since he burst onto the scene. He has tried to lose weight and was very successful when he was preparing for his first 5K. Doing that, he dropped over seventy pounds and now has no intentions of stopping. Jelly hopes to lose another hundred pounds before his Beautifully Broken Tour starts at the end of August 2024. However, as someone who has struggled with his weight, he is very conscious of other things, like his socks. According to Life & Style, Jelly only wears his socks once before he tosses them.
On Wednesday, May 15th, Jelly told Audacy this:
“Can I tell you a frivolous habit I have? Don’t judge me for this, y’all. I promise I grew up very humble, but I only wear socks once. I buy socks in bulk … It’s the most frivolous thing I’ve done with my success. I’m sorry, I hope I didn’t let nobody down with that, but when you’re fat, you can’t have stinky feet too, so you gotta have fresh socks!”
So, clearly, this is about being a clean person which is more respectable than anything else. However, the biggest question is what will happen when he gets down to his goal weight. Will Jelly still buy socks in bulk out of habit or will he donate the remaining ones to charity as he is a very big giver?
Giving & Getting Back
Jelly Roll is huge on giving back and showing others that there is tremendous light at the end of the tunnel. However, he was recently welcomed back to his high school in Antioch, Tennessee. This was a place he was previously told he could never return to but he was greeted with open arms. More so, his wife, Bunnie XO shared the whole experience with their fans and followers. It is proof that if you give back, you will also get back in beautiful ways.
