Jelly Roll Has Been Open About His Struggles

Save Me Singer Shares Surprising Secret For Staying Sober
Jelly Roll has struggled with addictions for years. Recently, he dished on the surprising thing that has allowed him to stay sober. According to Jelly, smoking weed has helped him tremendously, especially when it comes to things like the state of his mental health.
Speaking on the matter, the singer said: “I get in trouble for this, all the time, but my stance on marijuana will always be the same: I believe marijuana has helped me in so many regards, with my anxiety.” Jelly Roll went on to add: “This is a hot button topic, but, truly, marijuana has kept me sober.”
Jelly Roll Has Come A Long Way
Following that train of thought while recently speaking with Taste of Country, the singer went on to say that without the help of marijuana, he would more than likely be doing even more harmful substances to cope. The way Jelly Roll tells it, without weed, he would be taking codeine and snorting cocaine. In his words: “But a world with weed, I’ll be alright.”
Jelly Roll is also open about the fact that smoking marijuana to stay off the harder stuff could, in a sense, be seen as cheating. Often, for people in various recovery programs, they have to quit everything cold turkey to keep themselves on the straight and narrow.
As for Jelly, it seems smoking marijuana is a safer way for him to scratch that itch without having to white-knuckle through his days jonesing for something harder.
He went on to say: “I have friends that are in the program that are totally against any kind of mind-altering anything. I have so much respect for those people. That’s just not how my sobriety worked out.”
Whatever Jelly Roll is doing now seems to be working for him, including staying committed to slimming down and dropping the pounds. In the grand scheme of things, he found what works for him at the end of the day, and his fans love to see it.
