Maren Morris has set a huge rule for anyone who she is even considering dating after her divorce from husband, Ryan Hurd. The two were married for five years and share a son, Hayes. Yet, after what she went through with that and figuring out who she is at the core, Maren’s standards are high. Keep reading to see what rules she has set for her next potential mate.
Maren Morris Sets Huge Rule For Anyone Dating Her
When Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd split, they made sure to remain amicable as they shared a young son. However, the multi-genre performer was going through a hugely transformative period. She had shared she was leaving country music but later clarified she was moving away from the morals associated with some performers. Maren has always been an all-inclusive person even recognized by GLAAD for her contributions. This has caused some debates and battles between her and others but she remains true to herself.
Along with her divorce, Maren shared she was working on a very raw album which became the five-track EP, Intermission. In the midst of this, she also revealed she was bisexual. She has been very proud of this stage in her life, a new chapter, and is finally taking her mask off. One of her songs on the album, “Push Me Over,” is about Maren’s first same-sex date. So, she is not holding anything back but, when it comes to dating, what are her rules for her next partner?

According to People, there is one vital thing her next love has to have. First, she started by sharing the things she loves about herself:
I love my career, I love my baby [son Hayes, 4, with Hurd], I love my home, I love my friends. Those are all things that matter to me, and those are self-made.
Maren knows who she is and won’t back down. Now, as for the new partner, what are her expectations for them?
I only will allow someone to come into my life if they amplify any of it. They can’t be a net negative. They can’t drain my resources, and I mean that in every sense of the word. Financially, emotionally, spiritually. You truly have to have your s— together to be any part of my life at this point.
So, someone has to be completely together if they even want a chance at Maren’s heart, which is fair.
More To Maren
Maren Morris is also one hundred percent transparent when it comes to who she is because she is in the spotlight. Therefore, it makes dating easier because people know she is right off the bat. Plus, she is enjoying the dating process for the first time though admittedly, she has not found the “one”:
I don’t hide any part of myself. I feel like I can’t really do that because I’m a public figure, semi-public, so everything’s on the table, but I also have to protect my heart. I think there’s less pressure to make anything spark or happen, it’s just like I’m enjoying dating for the first time. Nothing crazy has happened yet, it’s just mostly been like okay, I can still do this, I guess, and meet a stranger and connect through conversation. That’s tougher than you’d think.
The fact she is going out and trying is an amazing feat and proves Maren still believes her person is out there. In the end, she knows one thing about her future mate:
My rules are just you have to be really spectacular to push me over.
