Nearly a year after filing for divorce from Ryan Hurd, Maren Morris is back in the dating game. She was spotted out on a night on the town with a popular Netflix reality star. Keep reading for all the details.
Maren Morris Shares Dating Rules
Maren Morris was friends with Nashville’s Ryan Hurd for years before romance blossomed. The two met in 2013 when they penned the song “Last Turn Home” for Tim McGraw. Friendship eventually turned to romance and they tied the knot in 2018.
The couple welcomed a son, Hayes, in 2020. However, their marriage soured and Maren unexpectedly filed for divorce in October 2023. The divorce was finalized three months later. The “My Church” marked Pride Month in June 2024 by coming out as bisexual.
She spoke to PEOPLE magazine last month about her perspective on dating as a divorcee.
“I only will allow someone to come into my life if they amplify any of it. They can’t be a net negative. They can’t drain my resources, and I mean that in every sense of the word. Financially, emotionally, spiritually. You truly have to have your s— together to be any part of my life at this point.”
Maren Morris added that she felt “less pressure” to force a spark but was just enjoying dating as a single woman.
Country Singer Reportedly Dating Netflix Star
Maren Morris admitted while playing a drinking game with Cosmopolitan last month that she had tried the celebrity dating app Raya. Her first attempt at going on a date with someone famous was a mess, but apparently, it didn’t discourage her.
Multiple outlets report that Maren Morris is dating a reality star from Netflix’s Perfect Match. No, not bad boy of the moment, Harry Jowsey. The “Chasing After You” singer is reportedly dating Justin Assada.
He shared a photo on his Instagram Story of Maren Morris sitting across from him in a restaurant. She casually slouched in the dining booth while sipping a drink.
“Scary movies + Sushi,” he captioned the snapshot.
Did He Drop A Hint In July?
The romance may be new to the public, but he seemed to have dropped a hint back in July that he was dating the singer. He was a guest on Harry Jowsey’s podcast and discussed dating since moving from Massachusetts to Los Angeles.
Justin Assada revealed that several famous women he grew up watching on TV or listening to had slid into his DMs. “I’m going on a pretty crazy date Thursday with someone that’s like, it blows my mind,” he said, though it wasn’t clear if he was talking about Maren Morris or not.
