Miranda Lambert was a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week to promote her new album. The two singers treated viewers to several duets, including a cover of a Chappell Roan hit. The American Idol alum was left in tears after an emotional duet of one of Miranda Lambert’s most popular songs.
Miranda Lambert Returned To Roots For New Album
Miranda Lambert released her first album with her new label this month. She left her long-time label, Sony Nashville, in 2023 to start fresh with Republic Records. Lambert literally returned to her roots to record the new album. Postcards from Texas is inspired by her original sound when she first made it big. The album features several songs that reference the Lone Star state. Miranda Lambert’s husband, Brendan McLoughlin, co-wrote one of the songs.
Covers Chappell Roan Hit During Talk Show Appearance
Postcards from Texas dropped on September 13 and Miranda Lambert has been on a whirlwind media tour. The promotional tour took her to NYC to visit The Kelly Clarkson Show. The old friends sat outside under a giant canopy in front of a live audience.
One of the most popular segments of Kelly Clarkson’s talk show is when she performs covers of songs from other artists from all genres. Miranda Lambert joined in on a Kellyoke of Chappell Roan’s hit, “Good Luck, Babe!”
Kelly Clarkson In Tears After Emotional Duet With Miranda Lambert
Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert chatted about Miranda’s extensive catalog of music. The two teamed up in a short duet of the hitmaker’s popular “Tin Man.”
The American Idol winner noted that she’s covered “Tin Man” solo in the past. In fact, it’s one of the songs she covers the most because she loves it so much. Kelly Clarkson broke down in tears after the brief rendition. She joked that she was glad she was wearing sunglasses so no one could tell.
“It’s just so beautiful,” Kelly Clarkson said of the song. She added through her tears, “And there’s so much pain in it, and it’s so relatable, which makes it even sadder.”

Fans gushed over the cover on Instagram. One fan suggested Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert release a full album together. At the very least, fans want them to do a complete duet of “Tin Man.”
