The two reunited for a Rolling Stone magazine’s Musicians On Musicians series. During their long conversation, the “Glory Days” singer asked the younger artist when he finally felt like a real songwriter. Zach Bryan responded that he still doesn’t. “To this day I have really bad imposter syndrome,” he said

He shared his early song-writing process when he was in the Navy.

“I’d go home and I would write, and I never in a million years thought I would become a songwriter because I never thought I had the talent. And that’s not a humble thing, it’s just I never in a million years that I would be sitting here with you.”

The former military member is still adjusting to fame. He recently had to apologize after offending Swifties. He admitted to the “Streets of Philadelphia” singer that he doesn’t love being labeled a country artist.

“When I first started making music, I told Stefan and Danny, my managers, I was like, ‘I want to be in a lane where, when people look back, they can listen to my music and it’s supremely whatever you were doing.’ You were the only person in my head that has ever done that.”

His Next Shocking Collaboration

For a while there, Zach Bryan’s relationship with podcast Brianna Chickenfry was overshadowing his music career. But his new interview with Bruce Springsteen puts the focus back on the music aspect. The country star has big plans, including a new album. He confessed to Bruce Springsteen that he already wrote 14 new songs for his sixth album.

It might feature an unexpected musical guest. Rapper Snoop Dogg revealed on The TODAY Show that he has a collaboration in the works with Zach Bryan. The Voice coach kept the details to himself for now.
