Jelly Roll is usually a pretty easy-going guy. That’s why it’s surprising to see the country star lose his cool. But that’s exactly what happened when he went on a huge rant and vowed to quit the social media platform Twitter. Keep reading to find out what happened.
Jelly Roll Goes On Epic Rant, Vows To Delete Twitter
Jelly Roll is one celebrity who interacts with his fans, either in person or online. He actively tweets with his supporters and responds to positive or negative comments. However, it became too much for him earlier this week. He went on a major rant about how “toxic” Twitter is and vowed to leave the app.
It’s unclear what sparked the meltdown. But PEOPLE magazine noted that Jelly Roll received some negative comments on a post just minutes before his rant. He shared photos from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. The rapper-turned-country -artist let his inner rock icon out by belting Ozzy Osbourne’s “Mama I’m Coming Home” in honor of the legend’s induction into the Hall of Fame.
Actor and musician Jack Black gave a speech about Ozzy Osbourne at the ceremony. But one fan commented that Jack Black looked uncomfortable posing with Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll clapped back at the comment, saying Jack Black was very comfortable.

Shortly after the tense interaction, Jelly Roll posted a major rant about the social media platform.
“This is for sure the most toxic negative app to exist ever — PERIOD. lol. This place is different man, I always heard it was the Wild West on here but man it’s insane. It’s a safe place for everyone to say mean s— to each other with no consequences. I’m out lol.”
Unexpected Reactions
Jelly Roll isn’t the first country music artist to unleash on Twitter. Zach Bryan deleted his account last month after backlash from a tweet he sent out about Taylor Swift.
However, Jelly Roll’s rant didn’t get the support you’d expect. One follower replied, “Country music artist gets feelings hurt and let’s social media trolls win… That isn’t very country in my opinion Toughen up buttercup”
Another added, “It’s free speech my guy. The good the bad and the ugly. I would rather have it this way.” A third follower reminded Jelly Roll, “Your feed reflects what you engage with. If you don’t give the haters the time of day, and actively start clicking “not interested in this post” when you see something you don’t like, you will immediately see an improvement in the content shown on your feed.”
Jelly Roll’s Twitter account is still up and active. He, or his team posted a promo for his upcoming Beautifully Broken Tour stop in Nashville. Do you agree with him that the social media platform is toxic?
