While it’s often common for famous country duos to eventually go their separate ways and pursue solo ventures, many Florida Georgia Line fans are still upset over Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley deciding to part ways. Sometimes, when you have a good thing going, it can be hard for those on the outside to wrap their heads around why anyone would want to mess with a winning formula.

Even when famous duos break up, they often find their way back to one another. However, in other cases, they don’t, and listeners will be left wondering “what if.” Recently, Tyler Hubbard got real about the Florida Georgia Line breakup, and he had plenty to say about it.

Tyler Hubbard Opens Up About Florida Georgia Line Split

Recently, Tyler Hubbard stopped by the Today set to talk about his solo career and what he has going on. However, he also opened up about his history with Florida Georgia Line, and he got real about the famous duo deciding to go their separate ways in the end. The band officially split in 2022, and many listeners are still not over it.

According to Hubbard, he said: “2020 hit. I thought I was on my journey for — we were riding off into the sunset. I had a lot of success with FGL. And God had a different plan. Pretty quickly I learned that, OK, FGL, the season of being in a band and a duo is coming to an end.”

Hubbard Has A Thriving Solo Career

For any fans who have been following Tyler Hubbard since the Florida Georgia Line split, they know that he has branched out into a successful solo career. He has been able to use his Florida Georgia Line fame to carry those fans with him into the things he has done since, and in that regard, things have worked out well for him.

Speaking of branching out into a solo career, he said: “I thought, we had sort of reached a lot of our goals with FGL and I thought, man, to restart this thing and start from essentially ground zero and go play these clubs and go do the things that you have to do when you’re building something, it was a little scary.”

Tyler Hubbard continued, saying: “But once I dove off into it, I’m like, man, this is actually what made me fall in love with this the first time and it’s doing it again. And so it’s just the excitement of the build and the challenge. I’ve found that that’s where I really thrive and enjoy life.”
