It’s an excellent week for Zach Bryan fans. Ahead of his sold-out concerts in Tulsa, Zach Bryan returned to his hometown of Oologah with a special surprise.
On The Road
Zach Bryan is in the thick of his most extensive headlining tour yet. Beginning in Iowa, the “Burn Burn Burn North American Tour” will take the singer throughout the American South and West, all leading up to a performance at the Wild Horses Festival in San Diego, CA.
Despite his incredible success, Bryan hasn’t forgotten his roots. On his journey entertaining fans throughout the country, he included a special stop in his hometown.
A Special Hometown Surprise
Bryan grew up in Oologah, Oklahoma – a town 20 minutes outside of Tulsa. With his tour stopping off in Tulsa, the singer saw an incredible opportunity to give something back to the community that raised him.
Mrs. Swant, a sixth grade teacher for Oologah Public Schools must have been delighted and surprised to learn that her class was being given complimentary tickets to one of Bryan’s concerts in Tulsa.
The class was treated to a meet-and-greet with Bryan as well as box seats for the show.
It seems Bryan’s father Dewayne may have personally chaperoned the evening to ensure the kids had a great time. On Facebook, the school district thanked Dewayne in particular for “working so hard to make this night unforgettable for our students.”
Welcome Home
The “Burn Burn Burn” tour included not one, but two back-to-back nights at Tulsa Oklahoma’s BOK Center.
The singer was thrilled to be home, taking every opportunity possible to thank the crowd.
The BOK Center is a massive arena with a capacity of over 19,000. The fact that Bryan sold it out both nights shows how elated fans were for the homecoming show.
Another Trick Up His Sleeve
The “Oklahoma Smokeshow” singer had another surprise in store for his hometown.
As Bryan retook the stage for an encore on Saturday, August 12th, he brought a special guest up with him.
Oklahoma State University football coach Mike Gundy shared Zach Bryan’s mic, helping him close out the show. As if the night wasn’t already special enough, Gundy was celebrating his 56th birthday.
A New Album
All of this comes days after Bryan announced a release date for his newest album.
The star teased a new record in June but was cagey about the details. Now he has revealed that his self-titled record will come out on August 25th. Zach Bryan has long been a fan of The Lumineers, and it looks like the Colorado folk band will be featured in one of the songs.
A Great Week For Zach Bryan Fans
With a massive headlining tour underway, two extra special hometown shows, and a new album on the way, Zach Bryan fans have a lot to be excited about.
