United States Marks Veterans Day
The United States marked the 70th Veterans Day national holiday on November 11, 2024. The day has been reserved to honor all who have served in the military, alive or deceased, since 1919. Previously known as Armistice Day, it was first celebrated on the anniversary of the end of World War I. It became a national holiday in 1938 and was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.
Americans across the country took to social media to honor military members for their service. Many companies offered free meals to anyone who served or is currently enlisted in the armed forces.
Jason Aldean Shares Rare Pic & Tribute To Dad & ‘Granddaddy
Country singer Jason Aldean was among the Americans paying tribute to the members of the military. The singer didn’t serve in the military himself, but he grew up in a military family.
He took to Instagram to share a rare photo of his ancestors who served to protect the U.S. “Honoring my dad, granddaddy, and all of our veterans today and every day. Thank you for your service, your sacrifices, and your commitment to protecting our freedom,” he captioned the post that included two photos of his dad and grandfather.
His followers took to the comments to share their own thanks for veterans. Several people observed the resemblance between Jason Aldean’s kids and their ancestors. Jason Aldean shares two children, daughters Keeley and Kendyl, with his ex-wife, Jessica Ussery.
He welcomed a son, Memphis, with his current wife, Brittany Aldean, in 2017. They added a daughter named Navy to their family in 2019. Multiple comments said that Memphis looked like his great-grandfather, while others thought Aldean’s daughter, Keeley, resembled her grandfather.
