Country superstar and actress Reba McEntire has been through a lot in the last year. Her family has felt an immense amount of pain and sorrow, but now, they can finally celebrate. So, what has them so joyous and happy? Keep reading for all of the details that they have just shared.
Reba McEntire & Family Celebrate Miracle
It has been anything but easy for Reba McEntire. Yes, she has incredible success, and she is beloved by millions. Not only was she a popular coach on The Voice, but her hit sitcom, Happy’s Place, was just renewed for Season 3. Finally, Reba and her longtime boyfriend, Rex Linn, got engaged on Christmas Eve 2024, so there is so much good in her life. At the same time, Reba and her family have suffered immense losses. In August 2025, her former stepson, Brandon Blackstock, passed away. He had previously been married to Kelly Clarkson, with whom he shared two children.
Additionally, her son, Shelby Blackstock, and his wife, Marissa, lost a baby and had been struggling with that heartbreak. Now, amid all of that sadness, they are able to celebrate a beautiful miracle. Marissa underwent IVF and shared her hCG numbers via Threads. She had an embryo transfer in January 2026, and her first blood draw showed numbers of 160.3 mlU/ml. However, her second one only showed 265.8, which can be less than promising, as numbers are expected to double every 48 hours:
Not the numbers we were hoping for to feel reassured (docs want it to double, only increase of 66 percent) but we’re still in viable numbers.
Yet, Marissa gave an update about how her dreams were extremely vivid, which she felt was an odd but positive pregnancy side effect. This is great news for Reba McEntire and her family, who just paid tribute to the late Brandon at the Grammys on February 1st. She sang for the In Memorium segment, and his name flashed behind her as she belted out “Trailblazer.”

Reba McEntire’s daughter-in-law received so much love and support when she revealed her hCG numbers. The McAlester, Oklahoma, native has amassed such a strong fanbase that they are immensely encouraging of her family. Immediately, they chimed in with similar stories and tried to ease Marissa Blackstock’s nerves:
