Willie Nelson Will Never Stop Performing
He may be ninety-three, but Willie Nelson will never stop performing. It is his livelihood, and he has admitted he has no idea what he would do if he stopped touring. Moreover, being on stage keeps Willie alive, and he knows that. Although he has faced some health problems, that has not slowed him down. He is still out there singing his heart out, and fans are rallying around Willie. Additionally, he has a book coming out in November, so there’s a lot to look forward to.
So, what gives Willie the ultimate “thrill” when he is onstage? He loves to perform with his children, and fortunately, a handful of them have followed him into the music business. Willie Nelson has eight children, with Lukas getting the most attention. He is a Grammy winner for A Star Is Born and works alongside Lady Gaga. Lukas has performed with his father, which always warms fans’ hearts. Willie’s youngest son, Micah, also performs with his dad, but their older sisters also got in on the family business.
Amy, 53, has been in a duo with Arlo Guthrie’s daughter, Cathy. Finally, Paula, 57, has had her struggles, but has released five country albums. In 2012, Willie Nelson said that “playing onstage with my kids is the biggest thrill I can get.” That is a huge compliment to his children, but so genuine of Willie.
