Other high profile Country Music Divorces

Seemingly this announcement comes on the heels of some notable high-profile divorces announced doing COVID-19. Of note, Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock, Kacey Musgraves and Kelly Ruston, and Darius and Beth Rucker. According to Country Living, Kelly and Brandon filed for divorce on June 4th. Luckily, it seems that things for the exes are amicable at the moment. For example, The Voice judge thanked Ruston while accepting a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show. Shockingly, this token of appreciation came three weeks after filing for divorce. Kelly reiterates her sentiments to her estranged husband in a tweet in which she thanks him for believing in her and convincing her to do The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Nearly a month later, Kacey Musgraves and her husband, Ruston Kelly, of two years announced their mutual decision to file for divorce. In a joint statement, the former couple says, “Though we are parting ways in marriage, we will remain true friends for the rest of our lives. We hold no blame, anger, or contempt for each other and we ask for privacy and positive wishes for us both as we learn how to navigate through this.”

A shocking divorce announcement

Most shocking of the divorce announcements to come out of the coronavirus quarantine is that of Darius Rucker and his wife of 20 years, Beth. On Saturday, July 18, 2020, Darius posted a joint statement on Instagram. It is in this post he details the decision to “consciously uncouple.” Seemingly, the long-term partners are committed to remaining close friends and parenting their children together. “We have so much love in our hearts for each other and will continue to encourage growth and expansion in one other,” writes the “Wagon Wheel” singer on Instagram.
