“Miley Cyrus gave fans a look inside her rock-and-roll home. She credits her mom, Tish Cyrus, for giving her her signature style. Miley and her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, lost their Malibu home to the wildfires in 2018. Last year, the “Plastic Hearts” singer bought a new home in Southern California.
It underwent extensive interior renovations thanks to the help of her mom. She wanted a colorful rock and roll escape that exudes her personality and sense of style. Miley sat down for an exclusive interview with Architectural Digest about her Los Angeles home. Ahead of Mother’s Day, Miley credited her mom for her keen eye on interior design.
Miley Cyrus is proud of her mama
The new home perfectly matches her wild personality. In late April, Miley Cyrus took to Twitter to share photos from her home alongside her mom, Tish Cyrus. In the tweet, she wrote: “My mommy. My manager. My interior designer. My role model. My LOVE. No one I cherish more. @tishcyrus @ArchDigest.”
In the summer of 2020, Variety shared the real estate details. She purchased the Hidden Hills home for $4.95 million. The 6,800 square foot home features six bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms. The newly-renovated home also has multi-pane arched windows, wide-plank French oak floorboards, and a wet board in the family room.

In her interview with Architectural Digest, she revealed that her mother and her design partner Mat Sanders designed her home. Not only is this home perfect for Miley, but it’s also suitable enough for Hannah Montana, per House Beautiful. It has “the best of both worlds” with its clean and understated kitchen and animal print elements throughout the home.
Much like Miley herself the home is loud and boisterous, while still modern and stylish. Tish told the publication that her home is “boho chic,” while her daughter has a “rock and roll” feel with “a lot of color.” Tish loved embracing Miley’s maximalism and it shows.
Tish stayed true to her daughter’s style
Miley Cyrus says, “People make bold choices in their lives, and sometimes those gambles work and bring you good fortune, and sometimes they don’t. But it’s a risk she’s willing—and I’m willing—to take in our lifestyle, and that is reflected in the design.”
All of the style and design risks were worth it. There’s still a hint of modernism and quietness in the house. For example, the swimming pool has its own meditative oasis, while the gym and wellness centers were inspired by Miley’s trip to Amangiri resort in Utah. Tish loved that Miley chose her when she has the money to work with anyone.
“My wheelhouse is very much boho chic. In my own house, I like everything neutral. But with Miley, it’s got to feel rock and roll. There’s a lot of color. Technicolor.” –@tishcyrus pic.twitter.com/tyb14v1ueb

“But for her to be like, ‘Mom, I love what you do, and I really want you to do this house’ was awesome,” Tish explained. “Not only as her mom, but more [than] that, I didn’t ever go to school for design—and also I’m from Eastern Kentucky, so I think it’s really something. It made me feel so good.”
