Garth Brooks was supposed to play his “welcome home” concert in Nashville’s Nissan Stadium the night of July 31st. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. Apparently, the way that officials are handling the situation has some fans enraged. Originally the Garth Brooks concert was postponed, now it is rescheduled. Keep reading to find out what’s going on with this Garth Brooks concert.

Inclement weather causes issues for Garth Brooks’ Nissan Stadium Concert

The night of Garth Brooks’ Nissan Stadium concert in Nashville, severe thunderstorms caused safety issues for the concert. Due to a lightning advisory, shortly after the opening set at the Grand Ole Opry began, fans at the concert were advised to shelter in place. According to a report from The Tennesseanthe fans make the most of the situation by starting a singalong for some of Garth’s hits.

Ultimately, officials decide that it is in the best interest of everyone to reschedule the concert. Originally the plan was for Garth to take the stage Sunday, August 1st. However, early Sunday morning, the concert’s organizers take to social media to let everyone know that the show is rescheduled for a “to-be-announced date in the near future.”

When the original plan was for the concert to happen Sunday night, fans didn’t hesitate to express their disdain over the situation. Some of the angry tweets are as follows.

  • “Just cost me over 5k. Tomorrow night!!! Lol at least give us another month to plan.
  • “Tomorrow night is not enough notice for people who drove out of state
  • “Tomorrow??? That’s really thoughtless and inconsiderate to all the people who travelled [sic] here for the show. They have flights or long drives to be back for work on Monday, no hotel rooms. you should give them time to make new travel plans for a future date.”

Fans still aren’t happy with the most recent update about the status of the concert

Now, the most recent update from the venue is that “Tickets and parking will be honored for the rescheduled date. More information on ticket options will be provided in the very near future.” However, this doesn’t seem to appease the “fans” either. At the time of this writing, there are 29 comments on the tweet. However, the majority of them are not very pleasant.

For example, one person implies that safety was not a concern of the venue. The tweet reads, “Will lives be ‘honored’ after getting struck by lightening [sic] after being locked out? Asking for a friend.” Other tweets mention the awful traffic. Then, one person brings up the point that people stood in the concourse, spent money, and then the concert was postponed for “safety.” Additionally, several people just want a refund for their tickets and parking passes.

At this time, it looks like Garth Brooks hasn’t made any comments about his rescheduled concert. He simply retweets what Nissan Stadium has to say about the situation. What do you think about what is going on with this concert? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
