Country music star Jelly Roll has just shocked his fans by cutting off his famed mullet. Not only did the singer chop off his locks, but he shot a video of him doing it so the fans could see the journey from mullet to a short haircut, completely changing how he looks.

Jelly Roll cuts off mullet on video
Jelly Roll carried on a long-time tradition for country music singers by growing out his mullet. Through the years, everyone from Billy Ray Cyrus to Travis Tritt sported the infamous mullet haircut. The joke was that it was “business in the front, party in the back.” However, Jelly Roll decided it was time to ease back on that party in the back.
Jelly Roll and his wife worked together to cut off his mullet and then posted the video on his Instagram, writing, “I can’t believe I did this, to be honest – did I make a mistake?” The video then showed him cutting off his mullet. He had a voiceover in the video, where he said he woke up and just said “F-it” that day.
He then called his wife Bunny “hair hater number one” and he asked if this would make her happy. She said he looked “beautiful” when his hair was cut, so she was all in on this moment. “I can’t wait,” his wife said. He said that he was clearly having second thoughts when she started cutting his hair off with the clippers. He then admitted that he wanted to “twiddle” and flip his hair, but it was now all gone.
He said that he finally accepted there was nothing he could do once they got started. “All right y’all, I did it, man. Now leave a comment and let me know what you think,” he finished by showing off the new haircut.
Jelly Roll always loved his mullet
Jelly Roll had talked about his long hair before, and he always said that he loved it. He not only had a mullet, but he had a lot of curls. In an interview with Taste of Country, he said, “I’m like a walking natural perm, you know what I’m saying?” He bragged that when he takes off his hat, his “mane just flows.”

The comments reveal that his fans love the new haircut, and no one really misses the mullet. “We Stan a clean shaven king haha,” his wife Bunnie wrote in the comments. One commenter exclaimed, “So much better! I’m with your wife on this.” Another wrote, “No mistakes were made. Looks great!” It’s a new look and a fresh start for Jelly Roll.
