Country singers Lainey Wilson and Deana Carter both have hit songs about young love and sweet alcoholic beverages. Deana has the hit “Strawberry Wine” from 1996, while Lainey’s new hit “Watermelon Moonshine” is currently popular. Many are deeming Wilson’s hit the modern-day version of Carter’s timeless classic. Fans crave Lainey Wilson and Deana Carter duet
After hearing Lainey Wilson’s hit “Watermelon Moonshine” fans are comparing it to the infamous “Strawberry Wine” by Deana Carter. After fans kept commenting, Lainey went to TikTok to do a mashup of the two songs and it’s now gotten over 3.5 million views.
It got the attention of Deana Carter herself who returned the favor for fans. She went to TikTok as well noting that she had not been on the platform in a while. She captioned her post, “SO proud of my girl @laineywilsonmusic & per request I am returning the #songswap with all the love in my heart! ❤️ 🍓 🍷 🍉🫙”

Lainey once again followed up and posted again after Deana’s stunning performance of the two songs. She said, “Thank you for your influence, you the queen.” Lainey continued, “Beautiful inside and out. That is Deana Carter for you right there, y’all. One of the most beautiful people I have ever met. Loves people, loves the lord.”

She placed Deana’s version next to her latest post and gave fans what they were craving which is a duet.

Fans went nuts
One fan said, “You should do a remix like Cole Swindell did with Jo Dee Messina.” Another said, “I hear a duet in the making! 🎶🎶🍉🥃🍉🥃🎶” Someone else said, “I love both songs🥰🥰. You 2 would put on a great show together 👍👍”
Other fans chimed in as well saying how much they loved both songs and both women. Many others want the two to do another duet or record this one together.
Time will tell if the duet comes to fruition. In the meantime, Lainey is out on tour with Luke Combs. She will then join Erich Church for some shows. Then, later this year she will join HARDY for his arena tour. No doubt fans will get to hear them perform “Wait in the Truck” live on stage.
