Tim McGraw has revealed what fans can expect with his upcoming Standing Room Only Tour. After a smaller tour in 2022, he has huge plans for his upcoming tour where he goes back to arenas. He also said that there are some “crazy” and “spectacular” things happening on the tour.
Here is what McGraw said fans will see on the Standing Room Only Tour.
Tim McGraw promises a crazy spectacular tour
Tim McGraw announced back in June that he had a new album coming out called Standing Room Only. The album comes out on August 25 and McGraw plans to follow this up with a major arena tour. This is very different from 2022, where the McGraw Tour 2022 saw him play in intimate venues and a few amphitheaters.
Now, he is going big once again. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, McGraw admitted that it is the first time he has done an arena tour in a long time. He said he is looking forward to it. He referred to it as “crazy” and “spectacular.” He also said, “This is probably one of the coolest productions we’ve ever had. We’re gonna blow it out.”
The last time that McGraw was on an arena tour was in 2017-2018 on the Soul2Soul: The World Tour with his wife Faith Hill. They played 109 shows across three legs. The tour brought in $100.3 million.
It is not clear if there will be anywhere near 109 shows on the Standing Room Only Tour, but it starts on March 14, 2024, at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. There are dates lined up through June 27, where he plays at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Tour stops include Baltimore, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Chicago, Charlotte, Tulsa, and Nashville. Carly Pearce opens the concerts for McGraw.
Tim McGraw wants his family at some of his shows
Tim McGraw also said he would love for his wife Faith Hill and daughters to be with him at some of the concerts. However, he also mentioned that his daughters don’t like performing with him. McGraw jokes that he doesn’t blame them because he is the “worst singer in the family.”
His daughter Maggie is in a band called Sister Supply and his daughter Aubrey performs on Instagram, performing cover songs. His oldest daughter Grace also is talented, dueting with her dad in the past. Despite their reluctance, McGraw would like to have them join him onstage this tour for a few shows.
“Maybe I’ll talk them into it,” McGraw said. “Maybe they’ll sort of grow out of that phase a little bit where they don’t want to sing with me. They’ll sing with Mom, but I’m probably not up to par with the rest of them.”
