Country music icon Dolly Parton is getting real about pushed buttons and what it takes to truly set her off. She is such a sweet woman and really a gem to the music industry. Yet, just like anyone, she can be a fireball and get riled up with the best of them. Now, she is sharing what happens when she gets mad. Read on for all of the details.
Dolly Parton Gets Real About Pushed Buttons
There really is not anything that Dolly Parton has not accomplished. She is a successful actress, and her theme park is iconic. Plus she recently launched her own baking products with Duncan Hines and has a line of pet products. To add to this, Dolly is releasing her first rock album, set for mid-November. She also encourages reading by donating over 200 million books so really, there is nothing she cannot do with a kind heart. However, everyone has a breaking point and now, she is opening up about hers.
According to Southern Living, the seventy-seven-year-old spoke on TalkShopLive with Nancy O’Dell. Of course, O’Dell wanted to know if Ms. Parton ever gets mad. Dolly then explained that she is fine with defending herself but she is very private about it. “Well, you ain’t going to see [my anger]. I’m just a regular person,” she started. She went on to add: “I’m not one where I’m one person out here and another [in private]. I’m a businessperson. Sometimes you’ve just kind of gotta pitch a fit to get it done or get it done right.”
So what exactly brings out the fire in Dolly Parton? She shared that when it comes to her family or her work, they are not to be messed with. “Like I’ve always said, ‘I’ll tell ya where to put it if I don’t like where you got it.’ I think anybody’s like that. You can’t just go through life just floating around getting anything done. I don’t lose my temper, but I use my temper.” Dolly went on to explain this concept further. She shared that there are people she must speak up to because, without raising her voice, sometimes someone just won’t pay attention.
For Effect
Dolly Parton did let it be known that she can raise her voice and shock people. They do not expect it at all from her but she feels it is the effect from doing so that actually makes an impact. However, it does take a lot to make her that mad or, as she calls it, turn into her father. Then, it might be best to steer clear of Dolly. Overall, though, she seems very down-to-earth and levelheaded just do not test her.
How do you feel about Dolly’s approach to getting mad while getting things done? Do you think she tries to be justified in her anger as opposed to just flying off the cuff for no reason? Let us know in the comments below.
