Walker Hayes dropped a new single that is receiving a lot of mixed reviews from all types of fans. Walker had written the song a few months ago but finally finished it with the help of Shane McAnally and Scott Stepakoff. The blunt lyrics may end up being too much for the public, though.

Walker Hayes Posts New Single On Social Media

Walker posted his new single, “Good With Me,” earlier today, August 25th, 2023. Different audiences are being reached across all platforms. Viewers from each platform are reacting in their own ways. Walker posted about this new song on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. None of the posts in particular are gaining significant traction, though there are many comments on each. In the video, Walker Hayes is singing alongside his daughter Lolly. She sings callbacks while holding a piece of watermelon in her hand.

Walker Hayes Sings Some Controversial Lyrics

This new song is full of political statements, some of which may get Walker in trouble. Here are the most notable lyrics:

“Well, Pam thinks Jesus is on his way.”

“Rob thinks Bud Light makes you gay, Shane thinks Rob is cute.”

“Kim thinks Covid was a Chinese prank.”

“Well old cousin Carl thinks we need to close the border, Carlos disagrees. Son thinks ‘trans’ is short for transformers.”

“Cindy thinks the government is tapping her phone, Willie thinks we oughta just all get stoned. Label thinks Ima get canceled as soon as I put out this song.”

Some viewers are reacting more sensitively than others, but surprisingly most responses have been nothing but positive.

How Fans Are Responding To Walker Hayes’ Lyrics

Overall, the reaction to this new single has been nothing but praise. Most of the comments are actually about Lolly and how well she performed with her dad, Walker Hayes. There were only a handful of comments across all platforms that had something to say about the politics. It took a lot of deep digging to find much negativity. Most people see the song as proof that people can get along despite different beliefs rather than a song that should be labeled as offensive.

@aleanhrutler on Instagram: “But… God is on his way..”

@tictocisbetter on Instagram: Watch out with the gay thing. They will go after you.”

@sharonkaiser61 on Instagram: “Nothing ‘makes’ anyone gay…” This comment received some backlash, with 14 replies so far.

@user07990150762 on TikTok: “Great job forgetting true country values. Could have been a great love song….I wouldn’t share this with my wife or kids.”

There were also a few comments saying that liberals would not approve of the song. However, the expected backlash has been almost nonexistent so far. The song has only been up for a day, though, so things may change quickly.
