While each artist’s road to fame is entirely different, Colbie Caillat noticed the importance of social media during the MySpace craze. Instead of sharing images and connecting with old friends, the country singer capitalized on its technology, growing a faithful fan base.
Some considered Caillat the number one unsigned country artist at the time. But that changed thanks to Universal Republic Records, and as for the singer, she sold over 10 million singles and over six million albums worldwide. Although setting records and winning Grammy Awards is any singer’s dream, for Caillat, one of her dreams recently came true when she paired with a Grammy winner best known for “All I Wanna Do.”

No matter the genre, when discussing female singers, it’s incredibly difficult to not mention Sheryl Crow. The singer accumulated a total of nine Grammy Awards. She was nominated for a total of 32 over the course of eleven studio albums that spanned genres like country, blues, and rock. Iconic in the music industry, Colbie Caillat found herself opening for her back in 2010. Now, over a decade later, it appears the duo is back together for Caillat’s newest country album, Along The Way.
Working Together A Decade Later
Although Sheryl Crow agreed to sing with Colbie Caillat, it took years for the pair to get together. Due to her band splitting and moving across the country to Nashville, Caillat found herself struggling to find the words. The singer even split with her fiancee during this time.
Using those emotions to help her write, she finally started to make music once again. But that left her wondering if Crow would still help. “I asked her if she would do a duet with me, and she said yes. Then it took me this long to actually be finished with the record and have a game plan so I only asked her again a couple months ago. I was like, ‘Is this still even on the table? I know you said yes years ago’ and she said ‘absolutely.’”
“I’ll Be Here” featuring @SherylCrow is out now! 🧡
I’m so happy that I get to share this song with you all ☺️🤍 Went back to the original way I wrote this song with Brett James like 13 years ago and I love it so much ✨

Colbie Caillat’s amazing talent helped her land collaborations with top talents like Taylor Swift, but for her – working with Sheryl Crow is still a shock. “She’s just an angel and her voice is incredible and her energy, her wisdom, like I love getting advice from her. It’s just incredible. I was like, ‘wow I can’t believe I have a song with Sheryl Crow.’ I still can’t believe it.”
Colbie Caillat Shares Her Inspiration
Shocked, thrilled, and excited about the upcoming album, Colbie Caillat discussed their song, “I’ll Be There,” and what inspired the words. “It’s a song about being there for the ones that you love, and I think it’s important to have a song that’s not necessarily just a love song or a breakup song. This song, you can sing it to anyone. You can sing it to a family, friend, significant other, you could to yourself.”
Been holding on to this album for 3 years and my heart is so happy it finally comes out next week 💝
“Along The Way” which includes my singles “Worth It” and “I’ll Be Here” with Sheryl Crow will be out in the world on 10/6! 🎶Hope these songs connect with you and your life… pic.twitter.com/HKPkbOyMkV
