Although she probably could’ve handled her own, Miranda Lambert requested her dad beat up a guy for offering her weed when she was 16-years-old. She stated, “Kick his a**, Daddy!”
Everyone remembers selfie-gate, salad-gate and many other times the country singer has taken up for herself. She has been very open about it, which is part of why people love her so much. Even though, it has been proven to be polarizing at times. And, she’s not shy in standing up for what she believes in.
Get To Know Miranda Lambert
She started playing honky Tonks in her home state of Texas as a teenager. Obviously, her parents had to go with her to all of her gigs because she wouldn’t have gotten in on her own being underage. They had to supervise each gig.
She told a beautiful story to Texas Monthly, a little over a decade ago, she was glad to have Ricky by her side through it all. Rick Lambert is a huge part of why Miranda even sparked an interest in music.
Growing Up
Rick would take Miranda to “picking parties” on the front porch of their neighbors’ hunting buddies houses. Eventually, he helped her get a little band so she could travel and get her foot in the door to start singing in little Texas venues.
Known as the best kind of bars, she got her foot in the door, by playing at little hole-in-the-wall places that were full of mischief and, God only knows what else. Miranda was only 16 at the time, so, without her parents alongside her, she wouldn’t have been able to get in to most of those venues due to her age.
Miranda Was Asked to “Smoke” With A Guy
One specific time, a guy at one of those little joints, asked her if she wanted to smoke with him. It was right before she was supposed to take the stage, and Miranda got her dad right away, to defend her during what turned out to be a crazy encounter.
Although she could have just said yes, like some kids her age would have, she called for Rick immediately and he put that guy in a chokehold on command. Rick more than likely didn’t know exactly what was going on ad possibly thought the guy had touched her or hit her or something.

Miranda Was A Drama Queen
Miranda started yelling, “Kill him, Daddy! Kill Him!”
Rick said she immediately started yelling for him and telling him to flat out kill the guy.
Bev, Miranda’s mom, chimed in to say it went a little differently than what Miranda and Rick stated.
“No, that isn’t exactly what she said. She only yelled, ‘Kick his a**, Daddy! Kick his a**!”
Either way, the guy was definitely scared straight and super confused at the same time.
