The tribute to Toby Keith Carrie Underwood posted on her Instagram account was written as if she were talking directly to Jesus. “Saddle up the horses, Jesus, ‘cause a true blue COWBOY just made his ride up to heaven!!!” Underwood said. “Introduce him to all the Okies and sign that boy up for the choir!”
Carrie Underwood and Toby Keith, both from Oklahoma, grew up in towns just a few hours apart. Underwood in Checotah, Oklahoma and Keith in Moore, Oklahoma. Both grew up in Oklahoma churches and started their country music careers in the red dirt of their home state.
