Jelly Roll is taking on yet another project by joining the latest season of American Idol. He was supposed to close out the last season of The Voice. Unfortunately, he fell ill and could not make it. Now, he will jumpstart another reality singing competition. Read on for more details.
Jelly Roll Joins Latest Season Of American Idol
It has been a whirlwind year for Jelly Roll as he has been nominated for several awards. Plus, he has walked away with a handful of them which has blown him away. He never expected this amount of success when he was locked up, missing the birth of his first child, Bailee. Now, he gets to celebrate with his wife, Bunnie XO, Bailee, and his son, Noah. Jelly just went to his first Grammy Awards where he was nominated for two but went home empty-handed. To him, that means he will just work harder and come back stronger.
In the meantime, he is taking on another task and that means joining American Idol. He is no stranger to the show as he has performed twice on the hit ABC reality series. Along with contestant Oliver Steele, Jelly performed “Need A Favor.” He then returned to sing “Save Me” alongside Lainey Wilson, who just took home a Grammy. She was also nominated with Jelly for a Grammy for that particular song. Sadly, they did not take home the gold. So, with Jelly back on AI, what will he be doing exactly?
Jelly will be a guest mentor on the show alongside Tori Kelly. This was shared on Facebook and fans immediately went wild.

A Real Mentor
Jelly Roll is someone who takes mentoring very seriously. More so, he does this in his daily life so he is a perfect fit for the show. Having been in a very dark place, it is vital for him to show others that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Now, he can inspire young singers that they can be anything that they set their minds to. Finally, some shared they had not even watched the show in years but will now just to catch him.
