After many years of bickering, fussing and arguing, Cassadee Pope is, finally, leaving country music. It appears the polarizing singer has made the decision to go back to her roots. She will now be returning to pop-punk music.
Cassadee Pope Has Had Enough Of Country Music
Cassadee Pope no longer has any interest in continuing her career in country music. She has had enough of the genre. She will now be pursuing a career in pop-punk music. The pop-punk genre is where the “Counting On The Weather” singer first started her career in the music industry.
Cassadee’s Start In Country Music
Cassadee Pope started her country music career on the hit reality show The Voice. She was selected by Blake Shelton to be on his team of talented singers. That was over 10 years, way back in 2012.
With Blake Shelton’s help, Cassadee did quite well on The Voice. She was able to beat out all the other competitors to win that season. That is when she made the decision to give up pop-punk music and embrace country music.
Was Cassadee Pope Too Outspoken?
Cassadee Pope and country music never really got along. This was mostly due to the fact that Pope was quite outspoken. She had several different “issues” with several different country music megastars during her career in country music.
The “Same Old Brand New Me” singer had an issue with Morgan Wallen. Wallen had used “the N-word” and she was quick to call him out on it. Cassadee Pope admitted, after looking back, she wishes she would have reacted to that situation differently. She admitted she found herself to be “annoying” when she handled that situation.

Cassadee Pope had another situation with Jason Aldean. She had an issue with Aldean’s song, “Try That In A Small Town.” She also had an issue with the song’s video.
Before her beef with Aldean over “Try That In A Small Town,” she had a beef with his wife, Brittany Aldean. Cassadee Pope took issue with Aldean’s wife’s “transphobic comments.” That was when Pope decided it was time for some “self-reflection.”
Cassadee Pope Ended Up In Therapy
Cassadee admitted she has been going to therapy. She even admitted she was not okay. Despite coming clean about being in therapy, Pope did not reveal how long she had been going.
“I had no feeling of regret. I just kept my head down and kept going,” Cassadee said. “It’s only been the past few months that I’ve let my guard down in therapy and said, ‘Wait, I actually wasn’t OK.’ But I think that kind of comes with the territory of including activism in your life. You’re not going to please everyone.”
