Trisha Yearwood and Don Henley joined forces, yet again, for a special performance. The superstar duo performed together on Austin City Limits. Yearwood and Henley sang their 1992 hit song, “Walkaway Joe,” on the night Trisha Yearwood was inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame.

Back In 1992

Long before Trisha Yearwood started singing with Garth Brooks, she was developing a working relationship with another singing partner. That singing partner was Don Henley. “Walkaway Joe” was released in 1992.

This was the first time Trisha Yearwood and Don Henley had worked together. Since “Walkaway Joe,” the two of them have had other collaborations together. Although the other songs are great, none of them have been as powerful as “Walkaway Joe.” In fact, even Garth Brooks has stated too many times to count that song is his “favorite” Trisha Yearwood song.

Who Is Don Henley?

Long before Don Henley started singing with Trisha Yearwood, he was superstar. He is the co-founder of the iconic and legendary band, Eagles. As a band, they have had dozens of hit songs like “Desperado,” “Witchy Woman” and “Take It Easy.”

Don Henley has had a successful solo career as well. His hit songs include “All She Wants To Do Is Dance” and “Dirty Laundry.” Another great song which Henley wrote after bringing his baby home from the hospital was “Taking You Home.”

Trisha Yearwood Honored By Austin City Limits

The Yearwood and Henley reunion was brought together by Austin City Limits. The long-running musical television show is known for bringing on musicians and singers from all genres. This year Austin City Limits was inducting Trisha into their Hall of Fame.

Many great singers have been inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. Sheryl Crow and B.B. King are members. Loretta Lynn, the original Queen of Country Music, is also a member.

Trisha Yearwood Reacts To Henley at Austin City Limits

“I can’t imagine being on this stage and being honored by Don Henley and not asking him if he would come up here and help me finish my portion of the show,” Yearwood said from the stage at Austin City Limits.

“I try to not ask you to do to many things because you always say yes and I appreciate you very much,” Trisha Yearwood told Don Henley.

She even went to Instagram to thank Don Henley for being a part of her induction into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. The post read “Don Henley, this honor will forever mean that much more because you welcomed me into the @acltv Hall of Fame. Appreciate you, my friend!”
