Dollywood Debuts New Attraction

Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, and grew up to create a rags-to-rhinestones story with her life and career. She began performing at the Grand Ole Opry at just 13 years old and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry 10 years later in 1969. In 2019, the TV special Dolly Parton: 50 Years at the Opry was released to celebrate her five decades with the iconic institution.

The entertainment star opened a massive theme park in 1986. Dollywood is a must-see for any Dolly Parton fan. There was concern recently that the park was closing for good. Instead, the park is open for the season with a brand-new attraction that gives tourists a close look at the legend.

The massive exhibit is spread out across several areas at Dollywood. One exhibit is all about Dolly Parton’s unique fashion that includes rhinestones and wigs.

The new attraction is included in the price of Dollywood admission. The country music singer’s theme park is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, near where she grew up.

Dolly Parton Latest Major Milestone In Her Career

Dolly Parton, 77, retired from touring a few years ago, but continues to release new music. Her foray into rock music debuted to rave reviews in 2023. She plans to follow it up this year with an album that includes members of her family.

But fans are still listening to Dolly Parton’s older songs. Rolling Stone magazine recently released its 200 Greatest Country Songs of All Time list. Amid artists such as Willie Nelson, George Strait, Loretta Lynn and yes, even Beyoncé, Dolly Parton reigned supreme.

Dolly Parton’s 1973 hit song “Jolene” took the top spot as the greatest country song of all time. Taylor Swift also shared the top spot for her song “Mean,” which was named best country song of this century.

Social media had a lot of thoughts on the list. Many agreed with Dolly Parton’s placement, but not Taylor Swift. One person joked on Twitter that they were calling the police after Taylor Swift’s song outranked Shania Twain’s “Man I Feel Like A Woman.”
