Brittany Aldean famously fought with Maren Morris on social media in 2022. Brittany, who has been married to country singer Jason Aldean since 2015, made a post thanking her parents for not changing her gender during her tomboy phase.

The post was met with backlash, particularly from singers Maren Morris and Cassadee Pope, who felt it was transphobic. Shade was thrown on social media by all parties. The feud has died down now, but Brittany is ready to tell her side of the story.

Brittany Aldean Thinks She Was An ‘Easy Target’

Brittany and Jason Aldean were guests on the Try That In A Small Town podcast earlier this week. According to Brittany, she’d never spoken to Maren Morris before the singer attacked her on social media. The stay-at-home mom wondered if it happened because she’s an “easy target” who only has social media as a platform instead of a stage like the singer.

“She’s got a group of friends here in Nashville that, they just have it out for me for whatever reason.” – Brittany Aldean.

Calls Out Maren Morris For Hypocrisy

Brittany Aldean took issue with Maren Morris claiming to be a feminist while simultaneously attacking another woman on social media. Brittany pointed out that the singer even went after her hair extension business. Even though her husband is mega successful, Brittany wanted to contribute to their household finances while being a single mom.

“To be so pro-woman and all the bulls–t. You’re not, because I’ve never said a word to you and you come for me.”

Later in the episode, Brittany Aldean brings the topic up again, “Aren’t you supposed to be like peace, love and all inclusivity and all the things? Why are you coming for me like that?”

The feud spawned one of the most hilarious nicknames, though. Maren Morris and her friends dubbed Brittany Aldean as “Insurrection Barbie.”

While she finds the nickname funny now, Brittany expressed confusion about what it meant. “Who knows really [what that means] I guess it’s, like, I’m proud of the insurrection?”

Two years after the feud, Brittany Aldean said it didn’t really bother her because she has thick skin.  She also said that Maren Morris doesn’t really know her and never tried to find out.
