Maren Morris is admitting that she is ready for a “new chapter” with her EP, Intermission, which drops Friday, August 2nd. She has been going through a transformative period in the last year but now, she is finally really coming into herself and it shows. So, what is she saying about her new album? Maren Morris Ready For ‘New Chapter’ With Intermission
It has undoubtedly been a crazy year for Maren Morris. She created a stir when she announced she was stepping away from country music. Yet, it was more so the values that Maren did not want to be associated with any longer. Additionally, it felt that she did not want to be put in a box and wanted more for her music. Then, she and her husband, Ryan Hurd announced that they were divorcing which was another bomb. This was necessary for Maren to move, evolve, and grow as a person and their divorce was finalized rather quickly.
Then, in 2024, Maren revealed that she was bisexual so she was honoring her true self. This was a major step in her life but very freeing all of the same. Now, she is on the verge of releasing her new five-song EP, Intermission. She has already released the single “Cut!” with Julia Michaels. The music is now raw and freeing, elements that will make this EP different than her previous albums. Finally, Maren feels that she is taking any mask off with this and now, she is noting she is also ready for a “new chapter.”

According to People, she took to Instagram to shed more light on what to expect when the EP is released. Maren started with the meaning behind the title:
“Calling this project Intermission was intentional. It’s obviously a lyric at the end of the song ‘Cut!,’ but it’s also meaning that there’s more to come.”
She then went in-depth with more behind-the-scenes details about how much this EP means to her. Yet, she also broke down how intense it was to get it all down:
“It’s a break in the act, and for me, it’s definitely an act break and new chapter of my life, and I’m so ready to see what’s on the other page. I just am so proud of this music. It wasn’t easy to write because I’m going through a lot, and this is the diary of that.”

Still Having Fun
Despite ripping her heart out on Intermission, Maren Morris does admit that there is an element of fun and she explained why:
“But it’s also, like, the most fun music as well as the most heartbreaking because i’m allowing myself to go there — ’cause I don’t have to protect anyone anymore. It’s just about my feelings. So, I hope you love it.”
