Megan Moroney Clears Up Rumors She Dated Morgan Wallen
Aside from his April 2024 arrest and 2021 racism scandal, Morgan Wallen’s main focus is on his music. His dating life has been a hot gossip topic, but he prefers to keep his private life to himself. He has a son with his ex-fiance, KT Smith.
In recent years, the “Chasin’ You” singer has been linked to various women, including reality star Kristen Cavallari and a mysterious model. His last public relationship was in 2022 when he briefly dated social media influencer Paige Lorenze. But one thing fans can’t let go of is the rumors surrounding Morgan Wallen and country singer Megan Moroney.
According to Whiskey Riff, the rumors began after she was seen wearing the same shirt as Morgan Wallen previously wore. She confirmed at the time that it was the same shirt, but refused to say more.
After years of avoiding the topic, Megan Moroney finally cleared the air regarding her relationship with Wallen. She was a guest on the Call Her Daddy podcast and revealed the truth.
According to Moroney, she did date the country star, but it was never serious or exclusive.
“I have never told anyone this, ever. So, he and I met in 2020. John Langston actually introduced us. I was a senior in college; COVID hadn’t happened yet. His Dangerous album wasn’t even out yet. So we were friends for a long time; it’s what 2024, that was 2020. So, we were friends for a long time; we were not just friends, and now we’re friends.”
Is Her Hit Song About Him?
In addition to rumors they were a couple, country music fans also speculated that Megan Moroney’s songs were inspired by Morgan Wallen, particularly “Sleep on My Side.”
However, she addressed that in the podcast interview. She told host Alex Cooper that the song was about another fling she had shortly after moving to Nashville.
“He had a whole girlfriend the whole time. I was with him every single day. He had a girlfriend. He wasn’t just cheating. … I could not believe it.”
