From a very public divorce and almost getting canceled by country music fans, Maren Morris has had a tough few years. Her latest setback has her feeling ‘cursed.’ Keep reading to find out what’s going on.
Maren Morris Feels ‘Cursed’ After Unexpected Setback
It’s been almost a year since Maren Morris abruptly filed for divorce from Ryan Hurd after five years of marriage. She filed in October of 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The divorce was settled in January 2024.
Five months later, she came out as bisexual in a social media post during Pride Month. “Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+,” she wrote. She previously expressed support for the trans community and even feuded with Jason Aldean’s wife, Brittany, over trans rights.
The feud almost ended Maren Morris’ career, but she rebounded with a new album in 2024. However, a recent setback had the singer feeling “cursed.” What happened?
Maren Morris was scheduled to take the stage in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Sunday, August 11. Unfortunately, the show was canceled due to bad weather. Certainly nothing to get too upset about.
But this wasn’t the first time the singer had to bail on Wilmington. “I truly feel cursed here as this is the THIRD time we’ve gotten rained out in your city,” she wrote on Instagram.
She vowed to reschedule the date and told her fans to stay safe amid the stormy weather. Her 2024 RSVP Redux Tour is scheduled to continue through September. One dollar from every ticket sold goes to the Ally Coalition in support of the LGBTQ+ community.
Singer Reveals What’s Kept Her Going
Maren Morris has someone she can lean on during the tough times. She told PEOPLE magazine that her four-year-old son, Hayes, has been on tour with her. She has primary custody but has a co-parenting agreement with her ex-husband.
The singer said her young son was her “partner in crime” and “definitely brought me through a lot of this year.”
“I feel like there’s so many emotions when you have a child with somebody and the relationship doesn’t pan out and you just have to put on a brave face and a consistent face for your baby.”
She admitted that the divorce is probably confusing to the youngster, but said she thinks they’ve done a good job co-parenting him.
What do you think of Maren Morris feeling cursed by the concert getting canceled due to bad weather? Was she being dramatic? Sound off in the comments.
