New Album With New Label

Miranda Lambert broke into country music on the reality show Nashville Star in 2003. She didn’t win the competition but, along with Chris Young, she is the biggest success story from the ABC show.

She made headlines last year when she left Sony Records after two decades. Her first album with her new record label, Republic Records, comes out this month.

Miranda Lambert spoke to Us Weekly ahead of the album release. “After 20 years on Sony Records and then parting ways and regrouping, I had time to think, what do I really want my next chapter to be? I wanted to go back to the root and find my footing again,” she said about her next album.

“I made this with a new energy, kind of like the energy I had at 19 making my first album,” she added.

Postcards from Texas drops on Friday, September 13. Her husband, Brendan, co-wrote one of the songs.

Did Miranda Lambert Jump Into Marriage With Brendan Too Fast?

Despite living in the public eye, Miranda Lambert tries to keep her relationships as private as possible. She divorced fellow musician Blake Shelton in 2015 and has never really talked about it.

However, she did talk to Us Weekly about her relationship with her second husband, former NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin. They met in a chance encounter in November 2018 when he was working security at her appearance on Good Morning America. They married in a secret ceremony three months later.

The city boy moved to Nashville where they live on a huge farm outside the city limits. Miranda Lambert admitted that it was a struggle for him to get used to country living.

The “Gunpowder & Lead” singer opened up about the whirlwind romance. “I kind of went for it; no risk, no reward.” She added that she grew up with family in law enforcement, so she trusted her now-husband immediately.

“I just felt like the worst that could happen, I’ve lived through. If it ends, it ends. If you don’t put your heart out there, are you ever going to get the big love that everybody wants, that all the songs are about, that all the movies are about? I’m guarded in a lot of ways, but when it comes to my heart, I’m like, what do you really have to lose? Pain is pain, but it passes.”

Miranda Lambert doesn’t regret marrying so soon. In her opinion, the risk is worth it. Do you agree with her? Sound off in the comments.
