When a fan collapsed during a Thomas Rhett concert last week, he didn’t hesitate to take action. See him jump off the stage and into the crowd.
Country Singer Dedicates New Album To Wife
Thomas Rhett got his start in country music as a songwriter, much like his father, Rhett Akin. He wrote for big name artists such as Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line. Thomas Rhett released his first album in 2012 and has had 20 number one hits during his burgeoning career.
The singer-songwriter released his seventh album last month. “About A Woman” is fittingly about his wife, Lauren Akin. The high school sweethearts married in 2012 and share four daughters, Willa Gray, 8, Ada James, 7, Lennon Love, 4, and Lillie Carolina, 2.
Thomas Rhett shared with Forbes magazine his approach to writing the songs on the new album. “Every day our approach to writing a song was, ‘How do we cover new melodic territory I’ve never covered, and how do we say I love you in fourteen different ways?’”
He added that his daughters played a big role in the album. The young girls didn’t want any slow songs, so Thomas Rhett leaned into upbeat songs that make people dance.
Thomas Rhett Jumps Off Stage To Help Collapsed Fan
Many of his fans were dancing during a recent concert. Thomas Rhett noticed something was wrong with one audience member during a tour stop in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 29. He stopped the show to call in medics to assist the fan who had collapsed.
Furthermore, Thomas Rhett risked his own safety by jumping off stage into the crowd to check on the concertgoer. Another fan in the audience filmed the singer praying over the collapsed fan.

Fans Praise The Selfless Act
Thomas Rhett fans took to the comments on the Instagram post to praise him. Several fans brought up a similar incident last year when he paused a show to pray for a fan in the audience who suffered a medical emergency.
Check out some of the other comments about the latest incident:
- I was at the concert with my son. It happened during the last song. He stopped the show and his wife brought out cold water and everything.
- It was unbelievable to see. There was no hesitation from him to jump off the stage, make his way to the lady through the crowd and prayed right over her. Truly unforgettable
- Similar thing happened at his concert in Nashville and he stopped the entire show and prayed for the man!
- He didn’t even hesitate to jump off that stage with no thought about security or safety (for himself), only about her and her health.
- My respect for this man just went off the charts. For him to stop, get OFF the stage, check on this woman, get back on stage and said “let’s say a quick prayer for her” I just couldn’t believe it. I cannot think of many other artists who would do something like this.
- I could watch this 100 times and cry each time. We need more people like this
Thomas Rhett is hardly the first entertainer to stop a show to help an audience member. However, he is one of the few who go into the crowd to pray for the fan.
