Miranda Lambert was one of the few who continued to support Morgan Wallen after the n-word scandal almost ruined his career. Now she says he ignores her texts. Keep reading to find out why.
Miranda Lambert Supported Morgan Wallen At Worst Time In His Life
Morgan Wallen’s burgeoning career was almost ruined in 2021 when he was caught on camera using the n-word. The backlash was swift and severe. His music was taken out of rotation from radio stations, his record label put him on pause, and he was banned from some prominent award ceremonies.
However, his fan base continued to support him by buying his music. The “One Night at a Time” singer issued a public apology on Good Morning America. His career has since exploded and he’s actually more popular now that he was before the scandal.
But at the time of the public outrage, other singers either spoke out to admonish Morgan Wallen or spoke out in support. Singer Maren Morris recently revealed she received death threats for calling out Wallen for using the slur.
On the other hand, Miranda Lambert publicly showed her support for Morgan Wallen. He shared an acoustic performance of his hit song “Thought You Should Know,” which was actually co-written by Lambert.
She thanked him in the comments for letting write such a special song for him, though it wasn’t clear when exactly the song was written.
Miranda Lambert has continued to collaborate and support Morgan Wallen. But her latest songwriting efforts went to her new album. Postcards from Texas drops today, Friday, September 13.
Why He Ignores Her Texts
Miranda Lambert chatted with Taste Of Country Nights ahead of her album release. The topic of her friendship with Morgan Wallen came up. She gushed at how well they get along, despite being “competition.”
She praised the “Whisky Glasses” singer and even said he should win Entertainer of the Year at this year’s CMA awards. The 2024 CMA Awards air on November 20 on ABC at 8 PM Eastern.
If he wins, Lambert could text him her congrats, but he probably wouldn’t respond. Why not? According to Miranda Lambert, there is a simple explanation.
“He’s a dude, dudes are terrible. They just won’t!”
She offered to text him during the interview with Taste of Country but didn’t have her phone handy. She said that he likely wouldn’t answer anyway because “It’s early for us kinds.”
Do you agree with Miranda Lambert that guys are terrible at texting back?
