Zac Brown Releasing New Music After Personal Life Made Headlines

Zac Brown and his namesake band burst onto the music scene in 2005 when their song “Chicken Fried” topped the charts. The group took home a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2010. Their star continued to rise in country music, but their lead singer was sidetracked a few years ago when his personal life took over headlines.

His marriage to his second wife, Kelly Yazdi, lasted just four months. They both made shocking accusations about each other in the press. The divorce was finalized in January 2024. He got engaged to jeweler Kendra Scott in July 2025.

The band is finally back to focusing on music. Their eighth studio album, Love & Fear, comes out in December. It includes collaborations with artists like Dolly Parton and Snoop Dogg. “Let It Run,” featuring the rapper, was released earlier this year. The two reunite on The Voice when Zac Brown joins as a mentor.

Singer Opens Up About Mentoring The Voice Contestants

Viewers aren’t enjoying this season of The Voice as much as usual. But the show must go on. Zac Brown and Eagles member Joe Walsh join the show on Monday, October 27, as mega mentors for the Knockout round.

Joe Walsh mentors Reba McEntire and Niall Horan’s teams. Zac Brown lends his expertise to the singers on Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé’s teams. The country singer opened up to PEOPLE magazine about mentoring up-and-coming musicians.

“Some of those singers are way better singers than I am. But that’s the great thing about music is somebody can be like an X-Men,” the frontman said. He added, “They have these superpowers, but they have to figure out all the life skills, business skills, discipline, perseverance, and learn all these things too.”

He joked that he’d learned a lot of slang from Snoop Dogg while mentoring the contestants. “Like sharp as a mosquito’s needle. I don’t know. There’s a hundred that I’ve heard today,” Zac Brown said.

He called Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé his kind of people. Overall, the singer had a great time on The Voice. “It was an inspiring day. I got to hear some amazing talent and got to work with some incredible artists,” he said about his time as a mentor.

Who knows, maybe he’ll join the NBC reality competition as a coach for Season 30. The coaches for the 29th season have already been announced, with Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine seated in the famed red chairs for Battle of Champions season airing in 2026.

In the meantime, Zac Brown fans can see the band at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, from December 5-13, and select dates in January.
