Country Superstar Done With Touring
Touring is a huge part of being a performer, and when a career is hugely successful, it can make or break an artist. Shows bring in massive amounts of revenue and keep the relevance alive. Yet, some artists make the decision to take time off, and they either explain the reasoning or stay silent. They may want to spend time with their families, need downtime, or could be burnt out. Regardless, their fans always struggle with this decision, and for good reason. Recently, a country superstar announced that they were done with touring just four months after turning forty.

Chase Rice hit the big four-zero in September 2025, and now, he has shared that he is done touring. The Ormond Beach, Florida, performer shared the sad news on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026. It seems that his followers had been hoping for a big tour this year, and that was why he felt the need to say something. Unfortunately, that will not be happening, and he cited “exhaustion” as his main reason for bowing out. He started his social media post by acknowledging how lucky he was:
- Alright everybody, I wasn’t sure whether I was gonna talk about this or not but here we are. I’ve been touring for 13 years and I’ve lived a dream far greater than I could’ve ever expected.
However, it was time to hang up his cowboy hat, at least for now:
- This isn’t a goodbye thing or anything like that to be clear upfront, although it may feel like that, but I’m exhausted.
Chase also noted that he has not felt like himself for some time while performing. Therefore, he wants to go live and gain new experiences so he can keep writing.

Midlife Crisis?
It’s fair to wonder if Chase Rice is experiencing the beginning of a midlife crisis, having just turned forty. He may want to explore and try new things in his life, which is fair. However, his fans need not worry as he still has a handful of shows to look out for in 2026. As for how long he will be on hiatus, that is unknown. Country fans immediately headed to Chase’s social media to share their thoughts on him stepping back. They were very supportive and could not wait to see what he had up his sleeve:
- The damn legend will be back better than ever 🙏🏾 🖤
- Good for you! Love that you’re doing this for yourself. Life’s too short ❤️
- Good for you!! Put you first!! Your fans will still be here! ❤️
- We’ll be here when you’re ready! ❤️
Hopefully, Chase finds what he needs and wants and returns ASAP because many people love him. Were you hoping to see him this year on tour? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
