Country Icon’s Daughter Pleads With Homeland Security
It seems that celebrities, musicians, reality stars, and more are all using their influence to express their feelings when it comes to the government. They are either praising or frustrated with various branches, especially the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). It has taken over social media, and often, it feels like there is no escape. Recently, a late country superstar’s daughter pleaded with DHS to step up in a major way. Yet, what did she want from them, and was it a reasonable ask?

Johnny Cash passed away in 2003 in Nashville, Tennessee, leaving behind five children, including Roseanne. Before June Carter Cash, Johnny had been married to Vivian, and Roseanne was their first baby. Recently, the seventy-one-year-old was visiting her daughter in Nashville when the weather took a dreadful turn. The family had lost power due to an ice storm and was ultimately displaced. She noted that they had to get a hotel as her daughter has two small children, and they stuck it out as long as they could.

There have been many casualties and will likely be many more. Roseanne Cash tried to illustrate the horrific nature of the situation and added this:
They don’t think that my daughter will have power until the weekend. They are staying in their recording studio, which does have heat. Anyway, I’m sure you read about it. Total disaster.
However, the country icon’s daughter wanted one thing to be known: the aid was the Department of Homeland Security’s responsibility. Yet, they were MIA when so many desperately needed them, but she pointed out where they could be found and shared her deep, dark feelings:
Just want to point out that Department of Homeland Security is responsible for disaster relief. I haven’t seen or read about them being anywhere here. Too busy shooting private citizens and deporting five-year-olds. It’s unspeakable and it’s a sign of a country that’s falling apart. And I know I haven’t said much lately because I haven’t known what to say. This isn’t the country I was born in or that my ancestors have been here for since the 17th century. I never thought I’d see this.
It Has To End
Johnny Cash’s daughter is making many bold statements, one of which is a call to defund and prosecute. Furthermore, she does not want certain people following her anymore. It seems that Roseanne Cash is so frustrated with what has transpired that she has hit a wall. She is scared for her family and those in Nashville and the surrounding areas. This makes perfect sense, and many followers felt she was following in her father’s footsteps:
- Thank you for speaking out and giving voice to what so many of us are feeling. ♥️
- Your dad would be speaking out as well. God Bless the Carter/Cash/Crowell gang and thank you for good music and good citizenship. ✌🏼💖
- Thank you from Minneapolis! Your dad would be proud. 🩵✊🏼
Many were in similar situations and were just as fearful that they would be stuck without power. It is very scary, but hopefully her message will reach the right people.
