Country Superstar Giving Up Touring After 2026

Touring is a huge part of any musician’s livelihood, and it is what keeps fans interested. They love watching their favorite performers live and right in front of them. Yet, when they announce that they have opted to retire, it is heartbreaking. That means some will never get the chance to see them up close and personal. Dolly Parton recently had to postpone her 2025 Las Vegas, Nevada residency due to health concerns. If she does not get better, many wonder if they will ever get to see her again. Now, another country superstar has announced that 2026 will likely be their final touring year.

Trace Adkins is heading out on tour for 2026, and he is hitting many places along the way. It is billed as the 30th anniversary tour and kicked off in January. He started in Alabama and will make his way to West Virginia for the last stop in September. That is where the alleged first leg will end, and it is unclear if he will have a second leg or where that will take him. However, Trace has made one thing clear. After this tour ends, he will likely step back from this part of performing:

I’m gonna give ‘em another year. I do not have another 30 in me. I do not. I’m gonna give ‘em this year. I’m gonna tour hard this year. But then I can’t promise anything after that.

Although he seems extremely amped to get out there and put on the best show possible, Trace has been in the business since 1996. Furthermore, he is an actor plus he has battled addiction. So, there has been a lot to contend with. Now, the sixty-four-year-old knows when to prioritize himself, and the country superstar will be stepping back from tour life.

A Long Time Coming

Admittedly, Trace Adkins felt he should have stepped back from touring a decade ago. However, the country star was told he could not afford it by his accountant, he joked. At the same time, he is thankful that people still want to see him perform and will pay for a show:

I just can’t believe I’m still around, and maybe somewhat relevant, you know, still. I’m just proud to be here and glad that I have fans who have stuck with me all these decades. And I’m going to give them another year, you know.

When he announced his anniversary tour, fans were thrilled. They shared where he should stop and where they wanted to see him. Hopefully, he gives them all they want and more on this last time around.
