Kacey Musgraves had fans thrilled with her tour that was set to begin in August and end in October. Unfortunately, without any rhyme or reason, she canceled several tour dates, and fans are wondering what is going on. Some are saying it has to be low ticket sales. Moreover, they are asking for an answer. Keep reading for more details.
Kacey Musgraves’ Tour Over?
On May 8th, Kacey Musgraves shared all of her tour dates for her Middle Of Nowhere Tour via social media, and her fans were beyond ready. They immediately headed to the comments to share their excitement:
- SEE YOU THERE QUEEN
- Saved my life. Truly.
- Take my heart, take all my moneyyyyy
Unfortunately, that has been halted as Kacey abruptly canceled three dates: August 20th, 29th, and September 2nd. No explanation was given, plus there was no rescheduled date, and ticketholders were livid. They had hoped that she would have at least let them know the reason, especially since the opening night is no longer.
Some believe that the reason behind the canceled dates is the lack of ticket sales. Therefore, the venues had no choice but to pull the plug. However, others are blaming Ticketmaster for the high prices of tickets. At TD Garden in Boston, tickets range from $75 to around $300, which is not affordable for all fans. Yet, it seems that for these pricier venues, one night has been eliminated, and one night kept.

Now, does that mean the fans who are not going to one show will suddenly be able to make it to the next? That is unknown, especially if the seats that they had purchased prior are unavailable. Regardless, Kacey Musgraves fans are speaking up:
- Kacey (or her team) has a habit of cancelling gigs due to unforeseen circumstances, meaning they’re not sold out shows and she doesn’t want to perform in half-empty venues.
- Tickets weren’t selling. Mystery solved.
- Ticketmaster and music artist are doing this to themselves with the ticket prices
Too Big For Her Britches?
Some Kacey Musgraves fans felt that, although she was a great performer, she may be too big for her britches. Some of the venues were fairly large or popular, so for her to think that she could fill them up for more than one night was quite bold:
- They’re all second or third shows in cities where tickets sold for the initial announced shows. I love Kacey but she’s not big enough to sell out the Boston Garden back to back nights in this economy
- Yup. She has two shows here in Austin and is charging nearly twice what Riley Green is asking. Riley sold out. She didn’t
