Country superstar Kenny Chesney is mourning a devastating loss, revealing that his “heart is broken.” So, what happened, and what details has he shared? Keep reading for more on the shattering situation.
Kenny Chesney Is Broken
2026 is a year of preparation for Kenny Chesney as he is getting ready for his The Original Vibe Room Tour 2027. It will begin in April of 2027 and is a major stadium tour featuring Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, and Greylan James. This will prove to be epic, especially for fans of Kenny and all of these acts, and will blow the roof off the venues. Unfortunately, tragedy has just struck, and Kenny is learning how to pick up the pieces.

The fifty-eight-year-old Grammy nominee announced that his beloved pooch, Poncho, passed away. He was fifteen years old, and it was a gift the country star never knew he needed. Apparently, a friend brought him Poncho and said, “here Kenny, you need to learn to attach to something.” Poncho became his partner in crime, and the performer shared his “favorite” moment:
- One of his proudest moments was prancing on stage at Soldier Field in Chicago in 2024. I thought it would scare him but he loved feeling the energy of the crowd and refused to leave the stage. Instead of being timid, he was a show off a lot like me. That was a favorite moment in 15 years of favorite moments.
Poncho loved being backstage; he thrived on tour and on the beach with Kenny Chesney. Losing him has broken Kenny Chesney, but he is thankful and grateful.
