Blake Shelton is in awe over Gwen Stefani’s energy when she interacts with other people. The couple went on a date night to the 2022 Matrix Awards. At the event, Blake honored his wife with an award for her long-spanning career. He couldn’t help but gush over her.

Blake Shelton gives off proud husband energy
Blake Shelton honored the No Doubt singer at the 2022 Matrix Awards. He admits that he “met some pretty cool people, some famous people” throughout his career. However, when he first started out on The Voice, he “met some really superfamous, exciting people.”
“I’ve never seen people react to another human being the way they do to Gwen Stefani,” Blake Shelton said. “I don’t care if it’s on the show if it’s an audience member, or a producer or a crew person or another coach, a contestant, whatever it is.”
After his speech, Gwen walked out on the stage to accept her award. Blake handed it to her and they kissed in front of the crowd, which wooed and awwed. One fan joked that he gave “proud husband energy” at the event. Check out the clips of his speech for yourself below.

Fans can tell how happy the two are together. They took to the tweet to share their reaction. One noted that Gwen “exudes joy.” Another noticed that Blake Shelton shared something else before his speech. He explained that there was another reason why he was here tonight and that was because of his wife.
Gwen Stefani had no idea he existed
The “Slow Clap” singer previously admitted that she had no idea that Blake Shelton existed before joining The Voice in 2014. He wasn’t on her radar at the time. In an interview with NBC Insider, Gwen shared her reaction to meeting Blake for the first time.
“I’m going to be brutally honest. When I first came on The Voice, I didn’t know that Blake even existed really in the world,” Gwen said in a joint interview alongside her fellow coaches Blake Shelton, Camila Cabello, and John Legend. “But then I did my homework and I could see that he was an amazing songwriter, and then I could see everybody falling in love with him.”

She admits that she was drawn to him “like a magnet.” The two started dating in 2015 after they went through their respective divorces. Gwen and Blake Shelton returned as coaches for Season 22 of The Voice. Unfortunately, Blake announced he’s leaving after Season 23.
