Fans across the globe love an iconic duo, especially an iconic duet. Braid Paisley and Dolly Parton’s “When I Get Where I’m Going” might ring a bell. The two might come from different sides of the tracks but it just makes sense that they’re partners in rhyme, like Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen. The two have publicly acknowledged each other as kindred spirits and often pay respects to one another. It turns out they have far more in common than being some of Music City’s most prominent artists. If you’re curious about whether the whispers of a collaboration between the two are on the table, wonder no more!
It’s a Matter of Time for Morgan Wallen and Jelly Roll
There are few artists out there that have the dynamic range and wide audiences that Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen do. They connect over their music taste, and each artist draws on rhythmic genres like rock and roll, and country with a little bass to boot. Both artists shared their work with label partner ERNEST, and while on tour with Wallen, ERNEST brought Jelly Roll out on stage as a surprise guest. The trio performed “Son of a Sinner” together, driving the crowd wild. During an interview with Baylen Leonard, Jelly Roll chatted about the potential of this “dream collaboration” with Wallen. He assured his audience that it’s about “when”, not “if” it will happen.
It Was Fate that Brought Morgan Wallen and Jelly Roll Together
In the music industry, like-minded creatives gravitate toward one another like a moth to a flame. And while the two Tennessee natives worked independently with ERNEST, they have him to thank for their introduction. Wallen spoke with Lon Helton while co-hosting Country Countdown USA, reminding the world of something they know all too well; “Jelly is always in a great mood.”
Wallen went on to talk about how Jelly Roll is so respectful and is known for how well he treats the people he surrounds himself with. He sang Jelly’s praises and Jelly mirrored that exact conversation, sharing his admiration and care for Wallen in the same breath. Jelly recognizes that having a friend like Wallen in the industry is a huge deal. Wallen currently clocks 26.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Setting their Sights on the Gulf Coast Jam
We see you drafting that “no way” text to accompany sending this article to your girlfriend group chat. But, you might want to wait until after the two artists hit the road in 2024 as they co-headline the four-day Gulf Coast Jam music festival. While they prepare for their tour, it’s tough to predict whether a duet will be released prior to or after they join the rest of the lineup out on the road.
You can see your favorite duo in Panama City Beach, with additional headliners to come. It’s safe to say that contrary to Wallen’s “Goin Nowhere” track, he’s going somewhere big, arm in arm with his good friend Jelly Roll.
